Therefore, we are pleased to offer a special academic scholarship of $1500 to 20 individuals who have shown creative leadership and fortitude of faith during COVID-19. The year 2020 has pressed us all to experience life differently, and we are excited to award those who have shown resiliency and engagement in their faith, maintained participation in their faith communities, and who have consistently remained engaged with the urgent issues our world is facing.

If you’re interested, check out their description from Peer posted below:

Want to be featured in a national publication ? AND earn some extra cash ?? Peer Magazine is looking for a writer who is passionate about fashion and decorating tips for the best Salvation Army thrift store finds.⬇️

Submit the following to [email protected] by July 8, 2019:
– ? 160-word writing sample about a fashion topic you care about
– ? 1-2 minute video of you talking about the same topic as your writing sample.

We wish Sarah Micula well because this September, she and her husband will be entering The Salvation Army’s training school to become an officer/pastor. Sarah will no longer be writing for us, which means we’re looking for a new Remix writer!

apply for a CBLI scholarship!

It’s hard to believe, but it’s basically summer already! And one of the best things your students could do this summer is attend CBLI (Central Bible and Leadership Institute)! We believe in this opportunity so much that we’ve made 30 full scholarships available for first time attenders. Fifteen are reserved for the Sr. High Track*, and another 15 are reserved for the Young Adult Community**.

If there are scholarships left by June 24, we will offer them on a first come, first served basis regardless of track and past attendance. The registration deadline is July 5.

In order to obtain a scholarship for your youth, Corps Officers should write an email to Nate Irvine with the following information:

  • Your student’s name and age (DOB if you have it)
  • An explanation endorsing why you feel this person should attend a Bible and leadership camp, and how you see this experience benefiting their walk and ministry.

We will respond with an email as to whether or not they’ve been approved, and walk you through the registration process.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

*In order to be in the Sr. High Track, you must be between the ages of 13-17. Only 13 year olds entering high school in the Fall will be eligible to be in the Sr. High Track.

**In order to be in the Young Adult Community, you must be between the ages of 18-29.

Midwest Prayer & Praise Night Podcast!

Tito bringing the FIRE at the Midwest Prayer & Praise Night!

On Friday, May 10, at the last Prayer & Praise Night of the 2019-2020 season (wuuuuut?!), Tito Rapley, of Raplee fame, brought a powerful message about being fake. Sometimes we’re one person at school and with our friends, and a totally different person at church. Living like that is *exhausting*. Instead, we should live into the pattern and way of living God’s created for us to live in (Romans 12:1-2). Enjoy the podcast!
