Did you think Youth Councils needed some improvement? Do you wish the Division provided you with more opportunities for service? Are you bored with the youth activities at your Corps? Well, reserve next Friday, October 14th for our annual Council of Youth meeting at 7pm at the Des Plaines Corps.
We request that each Metro corps sends at least two Youth representatives. One person should be a teen or young adult and the other a youth leader. It is not necessary that your Corps Officer attend but if they would like to be there, awesome.
Council of Youth gives us a chance to review what we are doing for the youth in our Division. We need to get feedback as well as new ideas from those in the front lines of ministry (that’s you). We will meet together and then split into two groups: the Youth Leaders will meet with Major Renea Smith and the Teens/Young Adults will meet with Eric Himes for a more focused dialogue. Preliminary plans for Youth Councils and other youth events will be discussed during this meeting as well. We expect the meeting to be over by 9:00pm.
