On Friday, November 5th, 2010 the Oakbrook Terrace Corps will be hosting the first Prayer & Praise Night after Youth Councils. Knowing Youth Councils helped us go deeper in the Lord, this Prayer & Praise Night will be a great way to continue in the commitments and changes we made then.
This Prayer & Praise Night will be a tad different than others. We’ll be focusing the entire night on social justice and the part each of us can play in bringing about God’s purposes in the world we live in.
In order to do this, we’ll be weaving in some ideas from a Territorial initiative called Project 24/29 throughout the night. For those who may not know, Project 24/29 is a 24 hour overnight Salvation Army youth event designed to teach young people about world hunger and preventable diseases that take the lives of 29,000 children every 24 hours. For more info on Project 24/29 go to project2429.centralmissions.org. Acting justly and loving mercy is definitely a part of walking as Jesus did.
