On November 1, 2010, General Shaw Clifton issued a call to all Salvationists to “united, focused intercession in relation to the need for justice for the oppressed, according to Luke 18”. To date, there are over 120 sign-ups by corps, headquarters and individual Salvationists around the world. You can read more about the call at www.saglobal247.org.
As part of the global call to 24/7 prayer, Lt. Colonel Janet Munn, Secretary for Spiritual Life Development at International Headquarters, is asking for help to get the word out to songwriters about the desire for new songs flowing into and out of prayer rooms across the world. To that end, the Centre for Spiritual Life Development is partnering with SayTunes (www.saytunes.com) to promote and gather songs of justice birthed by this call to prayer and the fulfillment of this call across the globe.
We need your help to reach out to your network of songwriters connected to the Army, asking them to pray and inviting them to submit songs of justice. As the call to prayer itself is a global initiative, we are praying that the movement of the Spirit around the world will stir hearts and that powerful ministry and worship songs would be born as a result. SayTunes will enable us to share those songs with the world. We will be highlighting certain songs and possibly compiling best submissions at the year’s end. There are no limits on what can be submitted (in terms of genres, styles, etc.) – we only ask that they be songs of justice for the oppressed.
Will you join the world in echoing the General’s call to 24/7 prayer? Will you help invite songwriters to immerse themselves in Scripture, put their ear to the heart of the Holy One and declare justice for the oppressed across the world through songs bathed in intercession?
