Since 2006, The Salvation Army and the Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking (IAST) have sponsored an International Weekend of Prayer and Fasting for the Victims of Sex Trafficking. In 2009, the Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAAST) joined as co-sponsor of this annual event.
This special emphasis weekend is held the last weekend of September, but we also hope that prayer and fasting about the issue of sexual trafficking will become a routine part of your life. To read a report from last year’s event, click here.

The Salvation Army, IAST and FAAST sponsor this event because we ardently believe that success in the battle against trafficking comes “not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6). We understand that in this battle we wrestle “against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).
The resources provided here have been developed to help Christians bring the issue of sexual trafficking before their churches any time of the year – whether as part of the prayer and fasting weekend activities or at other times – through a variety of methods such as sermon outlines, church bulletin inserts, Bible studies, and prayer guides. We are continually adding to these resources and working to translate these resources into different languages so please check these pages frequently for new materials.
