On Wednesday, February 8, 2012 The Salvation Army’s Metropolitan Division Youth Department is going to take a trip for teens and young adults to see Francis Chan speak at Moody Bible Institute’s Founder’s Week even under the supervision of Nate Irvine, Director of Youth Evangelism and Discipleship.
Here are the details: The event is free and registration or RSVP is not required by Moody to attend. It is a first come, first served event, and we would imagine, that as such, we are not guaranteed that we will get in because Francis Chan is such a popular speaker.
Our plan is to meet at Metropolitan Division Headquarters (5040 N. Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL, 60630) at 5:00pm, and leave for the Moody Church (1630 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60614), where the event is being held, at 5:30pm. We will stand in line, and wait for the event to start at 7:15pm.
Moody does not indicate what time the event will be over, but we approximate it will end at 9:30pm, which means we will be back to Divisional Headquarters at 10:00pm.
Should you want to attend, please RSVP with Nate Irvine ASAP as we only have space for 10 people. Of course, if you can get your own ride, you’re more than welcome to meet us there! Minors, you will need a permission slip signed by your parents. Download it here, and return it to Nate. Turning it in will count as your RSVP.

About Founder’s Week (from their website):
“Founder’s Week, held annually since 1901, commemorates the Feb. 5 birthday of world-renowned 19th century pastor, preacher and Moody Bible Institute founder, Dwight Lyman Moody. Along with students, faculty and Moody employees, Founder’s Week draws attendees from Chicagoland, the nation and the world.
This spiritually enriching week provides an opportunity to learn from today’s foremost Christian teachers and leaders through morning, afternoon and evening speaking sessions. Christian musical guests, along with Moody Bible Institute’s student choirs and symphonic band, perform during conference sessions. Many Moody alumni return for class reunions during this one-of-a-kind homecoming week.
Founder’s Week is free of charge. Millions of listeners tune in through live radio broadcast on Moody Radio Chicago (WMBI 90.1 FM), Moody Radio’s nationwide affiliate stations and on the Internet. You are cordially invited to join us!
Please join us for Founder’s Week 2012: The Hope Within Us.
From Feb. 6–10, we will be challenged to seek God’s heart through biblical preaching, reverent worship and uplifting fellowship. Founder’s Week will be sure to encourage and inspire you.”
