On Friday, July 17th, 2010 at 6PM (NOT 7PM!), the Chicago Kroc Center will be hosting a one-of-a-kind Prayer & Praise Night at Higgins Community Academy! Please read through the info carefully because this is going to be unlike any other P&PN we have ever done!

What’s Going On?
Here’s the breakdown: we will be meeting at Higgins Community Academy at 6pm, as opposed to the normal 7pm (and yes, we’ll be meeting in a school, not a Corps building).
At 6pm we will have a time of worship (with the Band of Survivors, along with members of the Kroc – get ready for some soul!), prayer and briefing on what doing a prayer walk looks like. After this, though, is where the night really kicks into high gear: at 7pm we will be going as a group on a prayer walk through the community the Kroc is located in.
This is a very important night for the members of the Kroc Center, as well as for us members of the Prayer & Praise Night community. This is getting back to what the Salvation Army is all about – going back to our roots. We will be “invading” a neighborhood that is primarily dwelling in darkness. We will be bringers of the Light.
Not only will this act of worship be powerful in the short time we spend at the Kroc, but the prayer-battle that we will begin waging will be continued by the Officers and Soldiers of the Kroc Center for a long, long time. This is a time for you to see and experience a part of the Army that you might not see every day. This is a chance for you to help make a real difference in a community that needs the Light of Christ.
What Should I Bring?
-Bring your friends!
-Bring your Bible!
-Bring a focused attitude of worship!
-Bring some good walking shoes!
-Bring some cash to bless the Kroc for the food they will be giving us ($2 suggested)
-SHOW UP AT 6pm!
Why Are We Meeting In A School?
The meeting will be held at Higgins Community Academy. This is a school, so don’t worry about trying to find a Corps building. The Kroc Center holds their meetings in Higgins until their building is finished. It’s a great way to build relationships with the community a Corps is ministering to.
