Check it out, It’s Aaron! It’s been a blessing to be spending the summer at Band of Survivors 2011. I applied last year but didn’t learn enough from it so God influenced me to apply again and now I’m here. Today was the first day we went to the Kroc Center. If you didn’t know the area, it’s in Far south Chicago in heavy gang territory. At the projects neighborhood we went to (wassup to the folks from Racine Courts if you’re reading this) we held a VBS. I met the kids from the area and got to know them pretty well and became friends. One of my friends was Danny, an kid with autism, he inspired me in such a way with not being ashamed of the gospel. He will always sing gospel songs and be proud of it. Later in the evening, we handed out fliers to a health fair and gospel concert at a local park and got to meet the people around the area and learn how much they already respect the Salvation Army.
It’s been awesome to be chillin’ with the guys at Racine Courts and will keep them in my prayers.
