At Youth Councils 2012, we’re doing things differently.
Usually, you come to Youth Councils and get an awesome, quality shirt. For free. But not this year. This year we want you to support a cause that helps people who are desperately in need.
Independencia Day Care Centre is a Day Care for children between 2 and 3 years old in the country of Uruguay (South America). According to Uruguayan law, students and teachers have to wear a school uniform in order to attend or teach. Currently, Independencia has 50 children and 15 teachers that are without uniforms, and cannot attend because of that. The families the school works with come from very limited economic resources, and it is almost impossible for them to buy their own uniforms.
So instead of giving a shirt away, we want you to help the helpless. This year, we are selling the shirts for $5 a pop. That’s it. $5 bones! Not only is that a steal, but 100% of that money goes to the Independencia Day Care to buy the school uniforms. Of course, you can buy multiple shirts, or pay more than $5 for one. It’s totally up to you. The design comes from the good people at www.tsa-wardrobe.com.
SPREAD THE WORD!
Now, in order for this to be a success, we need you to spread the word. People need to know what’s going on, and what the cause is in order to get behind it. So please, Tweet it, Retweet it, share it on Facebook, go bonkers. The success of this mission depends on it.
Feel free to download a flyer to post at your Corps, hang up at home, or whatever. Do whatever it takes!
So don’t forget! BRING $5 TO YOUTH COUNCILS!!!
