What up Metro Youth!

The Blue Island Prayer & Praise Night on 11.11.11 was super fun! 180 youth from 18 Corps celebrated a birthday, worshiped, learned about prayer, prayed, and ate ice cream and cake. I mean, could you get any better?

Sherry Johnson (from the Chicago Kroc Center) shared an awesome message on prayer from Romans 8:26-27, using the New Century Youth Bible: “26 Also, the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We do not know how to pray as we should. But the Spirit himself speaks to God for us, even begs God for us with deep feelings that words cannot explain. 27 God can see what is in people’s hearts. And he knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit speaks to God for his people in the way God wants.”

What a powerful message! You can listen to it and download it using our podcast player above. You can also find our podcasts on the right side of the screen on every page. BOOMSHAKALAKA!

Also, you would probably like to know that the photos from the Blue Island P&PN can be found on our Flickr page. Head over to our Flickr page here, and take a look at the first set (called “Blue Island P&PN (11.11.11). Enjoy!

Last, but not least, we shared a video featuring the testimony of hip-hop artist Lecrae. Just in case you’d like to watch that video again, or show it to your friends, you can check it out here:

We hope to see you at the next Prayer & Praise Night at the Chicago Central ARC on Friday, January 13, 2012. Justin Rose (youth pastor from the Mayfair Corps) will be sharing a message on materialism and self-denial. It’s going to be super awesome! God is good!
